Cardinal Winning School Celebrate The Bard

The Jean Armour Burns Trust was delighted to provide a funding grant for the Cardinal Winning Secondary School to enjoy a Burns Supper celebrating our National Bard, Robert Burns.

As well as the Burns Supper, the funding contributed and supported a group of young children working towards their Adult Learning and Transition SQA award. This has a significant focus on relationships and allowed the pupils to host the Burns Supper, inviting another class to join in the celebrations.

Part of the preparations saw the pupil’s being allowed trips to the shops for the ingredients and decorations. All key components of their developing organisational skills. The planning for the day was very thorough but made more enjoyable with a nice hot drink before and after all the hard work.

The entire day was an outstanding success.

Photographs show the proud pupils showing off all their ingenuity and of course tucking into a big plate of Haggis.
